Here are a few things to know before you buy.
It’s Not Pork
Traditional Spanish Chorizo is made using pork.
Of course, we specialise in creating halal chilled meat products, which means pork is definitely out of the question.
So, what do we use instead?
Turkey, of course.
This versatile bird has proven to be a great replacement for a host of turkey products. And best of all, you’re eating a white meat, which means you don’t have to worry about having too much red meat in your diet.
Our turkey Chorizo really packs a punch when it comes to its protein content too, which is another thing that separates it from the pork crowd.
Chorizo can come in both pre-cooked and pre-cured varieties, with the latter requiring you to take extra special care of the meat before you serve it.
At Najma, we prioritise convenience, which is why we’ve handled all of the cooking for you. Just pull the Chorizo out of the package and it’s ready to serve in whatever way you want.
You can even cook it again if you want.
Just a quick note, though. Once opened, it’s recommended that you eat it all within two days. Once exposed to air, your cooked Chorizo will slowly start to go off.
Get it eaten quickly and you won’t have any issues.
Chorizo’s Great With Eggs
These days, we often see Chorizo as a sandwich meat or a great ingredient for a Tapas plate.
But in its native Spain, Chorizo is a popular breakfast dish that’s often served alongside eggs. Trust us…you have to try it.

It’s a Low-Carb Option
We’re not going to go as far as to say that Chorizo is a health food. It does have a fairly high fat content, though these are the healthy fats that your body needs.
However, we will say that our Chorizo is ideal if you’re on a low-carb diet. In fact, the entire 230g stick only contains 1.9g of carbs. And best of all, only 1g of those carbs sugar.
That’s an almost non-existent amount, which makes Chorizo a great choice if you’re on the Keto diet.
